Humate-potassium drilling reagent
TU U 24.6-24709453-004-2003
Humate-potassium drilling reagent (HKR) is a product of the interaction of crushed brown coal with a solution of caustic potassium.
Humate-potassium drilling reagent is designed to reduce fluid loss, liquefy and improve the rheological properties of drilling fluids. In addition, the reagent improves the inhibitory properties of solutions; it is most effective in potassium systems as an additional source of potassium ions, which in turn reduces the need for potassium chloride.
Currently, in foreign practice, a similar drilling reagent is widely used under the trade names “K-17”; “KEM-lig.”
